Datum Audio

Cloud audio recorder · Support

Datum Audio is a cloud audio recorder built for long recordings — lectures, meetings, and interviews. Your audio uploads automatically to the cloud and can be played back from any web browser.

Getting started

  1. Ask your organization's administrator for a 6-character access code.
  2. Open Datum Audio, enter the code on the sign-in screen.
  3. Tap Record to start. You can lock the screen — recording keeps going in the background.
  4. When you're done, tap Stop. Files upload automatically when the device has internet.
  5. To listen back, open the web interface in any browser and sign in with the same code.

FAQ

I don't have a code. How do I get one?

Codes are issued by your organization's administrator. The app does not support self sign-up — contact the person who invited you.

I lost network connection during a recording. Did I lose audio?

No. Recordings are saved on your device first and split into 10-minute chunks. They upload automatically once a network connection is available.

The app says "Too many attempts". What happened?

For security, the app blocks login after several wrong codes. Wait a few minutes and try again, or ask your administrator to confirm the correct code.

Where can I listen to my recordings?

Open the web interface in any browser (laptop, tablet, another phone) and sign in with the same code you use in the app.

How do I delete a recording or my account?

Recordings and account data can be removed by your organization's administrator. To request a full account deletion, contact us by email below.

The app stops recording when the screen locks.

Make sure microphone permission is granted (Settings → Privacy → Microphone → Datum Audio) and that battery-saver mode is not aggressively suspending apps. The app uses the iOS background audio mode and should keep recording with the screen locked.
